IRCCS “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza” intends to start a selection process for 1 Biomedical Engineer to be hired under a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months, extendable until the end of the project (31/08/2026), to meet the needs of the project titled "National Plan for Complementary Investments to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Innovative Health Ecosystem Program" - "Hub Life Science – Advanced Therapy (LSH-TA) PNC-E3-2022-23683269 – CUP: I23C22000870001", funded by the Ministry of Health within the framework of the National Complementary Plan for the Innovative Health Ecosystem" - Investment Unique Code: PNC-E.3, to be assigned to the Tissue Engineering Unit of the IRCCS “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza” Hospital in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG).

In the CV, candidates must declare, under penalty of exclusion from the selection process, possession of the following specific requirements:
- Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering;
- PhD in Chemistry;
- At least 5 scientific publications (with at least 1 as first author) in international peer-reviewed journals in the fields of bioengineering, chemistry, and materials science;
- Experience in public and/or private research centers with recognized international scientific reputation in at least one foreign country different from the candidate's residence/birth;
- Multiple years of experience in electrospinning of biomaterials and their characterization.
Additional qualifications considered valuable:
- Knowledge of spectroscopy techniques applied to biomaterials;
- Fluent knowledge of the English language;
- Experience in 3D printing of biomaterials;
- Basic knowledge of molecular dynamics techniques;
- Experience supervising Master’s degree students.
The selected professional will be responsible for the following activities:
- Development and characterization of electrospun nanostructured scaffolds;
- Development and characterization of scaffolds prepared through 3D printing;
- Optimization of electro-spun scaffold production protocols and their translation into GMP contexts.

Admitted candidates will be called for an interview aimed at evaluating their professional skills in the specific discipline, with reference to documented professional experience, as well as assessing their managerial and organizational abilities.
The successful candidate and eligible candidates, if called upon, will undergo a PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL SCREENING at the expense of the Institute, to assess their suitability for the various "specific health risks" associated with the particular job profile they will occupy in the various operational units of the Institute (in accordance with articles 2087 of the Civil Code, and articles 15, 18, 25, 28, paragraph 2, letter f), 29, and 41, paragraph 1, letter a), paragraph 2, letter e-bis), and paragraph 2-bis, Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments).
The employer reserves the right to draw from the final ranking of this selection process to place eligible candidates in other operational units and/or alternative scientific projects requiring professionals similar to the one sought in this call.
