






Emergency Department and Admission Unit
The Complex Operative Unit for the Emergency Department (Level I DEA) is located on the ground floor of Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza Hospital.
Its activities include:
Emergency Department Admissions
The unit handles an average of 140 patient visits per day, with peaks of 230-240 during the summer months.
Intensive Short Observation Unit (OBI)
This unit features nine individual, spacious rooms, each equipped with multifunctional monitoring systems.
DAY SERVICE:
Approximately 700 outpatient surgical procedures are performed annually, supported by a biweekly operating room schedule.
Outpatient services are delivered at the Giovanni Paolo II Polyclinic and include:
IRC Training Center:
The center offers IRC-certified training courses, including: BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation), PBLSD (Pediatric Basic Life Support and Defibrillation), Basic PTC (Prehospital Trauma Care), Advanced PTC (Advanced Prehospital Trauma Care), ALS (Advanced Life Support)
These courses are available to hospital staff (as part of continuous emergency and urgent care training) and to external healthcare professionals and non-medical personnel.
