Cardiac Anesthesia

The Complex Operating Unit of Cardiac Anesthesia and Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care ensures that patients undergoing cardiac surgery receive the most advanced intraoperative anesthetic techniques and cardiovascular monitoring within the intensive care setting.

The operating rooms are located on the 3rd floor within the cardiovascular operating suite. The cardiac surgery intensive care area is situated on the 9th floor.

Intraoperative and postoperative transesophageal echocardiographic monitoring is performed. Neck lines are placed for minimally invasive cardiac surgery.

Comprehensive cardiovascular monitoring systems are available.

Extracorporeal circulation treatments are carried out, such as venovenous ECMO (for severe respiratory failure) and veno-arterial ECMO (for cardiogenic shock following myocardial infarction or post-cardiotomy).

IMPELLA device-assisted support is managed.

Hemopurification treatments are performed for the removal of pro-inflammatory substances.

In collaboration with nephrologists, continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRT) are conducted in the critical cardiac surgery area. Postoperative pain control is ensured through thoracic wall anesthetic blocks.

Percutaneous tracheostomies are performed using the modified Ciaglia dilatational technique.

450–500 patients are treated each year
