The IRCCS “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza” intends to initiate a selection process for 1 Bioinformatician for the assignment of a Coordinated and Continuous Collaboration Contract with a duration of 12 months, and in any case no later than the end of the project (30.08.2026), to be carried out at the U.O. Cancer Biomarkers of ISBReMIT at the IRCCS Hospital “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza”, for the needs of the project “PNRR-POC-2023-12377322 TOGGLER Theranostics for Aggressive Lung Cancer”, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU – PNRR M6C2 - Investment 2.1 (Enhancement and Strengthening of Biomedical Research within the National Health System).

In their CV, candidates must declare, under penalty of exclusion from the selection process, possession of the following specific requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- Proven work experience of 1 to 2 years in sequencing data analysis.
- Skills in large-scale multi-omics dataset analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, Whole Exome Sequencing, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, and Bash.
- Proficiency in basic biostatistical methods, including descriptive statistics, parametric, and non-parametric tests.
- Good command of the English language.
For degrees obtained abroad, the necessary equivalency with Italian diplomas must have been recognized by the competent authorities by the deadline for submission of applications.
- Additional valued qualifications:
- Knowledge of C++ and C# programming languages.
- Basic knowledge of the SAS language.
- Experience with single-cell sequencing approaches and spatial transcriptomics analysis.
- Proficiency in advanced biostatistical methods, such as regression and survival analysis, as well as advanced classification and machine learning techniques.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on multiple projects and technologies in a fast-evolving scientific environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities of the Selected Professional:
- Bioinformatics analysis of genomic data.
Candidates registered for the selection process will receive specific communication regarding their admission/non-admission and the scheduled interview date via the email address provided.
Admitted candidates will be required to undergo an evaluation to assess their professional skills in the specific discipline, including documented professional experience, as well as their managerial and organizational abilities.
The 60% of the evaluation will be based on the interview performance while 40% of the evaluation will be based on the CV and qualifications.
The selected candidate and eligible candidates, if called, will be required to undergo a PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION at the Institute’s expense. This is to ensure their physical and mental fitness for the specific health risks associated with their role, as required by the relevant Italian labor and health regulations (D. Lgs. 81/2008 and subsequent amendments).
